Last week, St Augustine’s proudly celebrated Neurodiversity Celebration Week — a wonderful opportunity for our school community to acknowledge and appreciate the many different ways our brains work. It was a week filled with learning, creativity and joy as our children explored how their unique strengths contribute to the richness of our school family.
Boys' Football Tournament at Rockliffe Park
Written by one of our Media Correspondents, Kyrylo. On Wednesday 25th March, there was a Boys’ Football Tournament at Rockliffe Park. Seven schools took part in the event, and all of them got to meet the U16 Middlesbrough Academy players and even watch the first team train.
GIRLS’ FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT!
Written by Mary, one of our Media Correspondents. On the 26th of March, a fantastic group of girls from Years 5 and 6 represented St Augustine’s at a football tournament! They played nine games throughout the day — winning two, drawing two, and losing five — but the biggest win was the FUN they had together.
St Augustine’s Are One Step Closer to Wembley!
What an incredible day for our St Augustine’s boys’ football team as they travelled to Durham for the next round of the National League Trust Football Competition — and what a journey it turned out to be! Despite the very windy conditions, our boys showed resilience, teamwork, and real footballing talent from the first whistle to the last.
Celebrating Our Science Week Winners!
Science Week at St Augustine’s has been filled with excitement, creativity, and curiosity! Our pupils impressed us all with their imaginative ideas and scientific thinking. We’re delighted to share the winners of our Science Week ‘Design a T‑Shirt’ Competition and the British Science Week Poster Competition.
Year 3 Shine in Their Field Hockey Sessions
Our Year 3 children have been working incredibly hard as they develop their skills in field hockey. Over the past few sessions, they have been focusing on controlling the ball, moving with confidence, and beginning to learn how to pass accurately to a partner.
Another Day of Football Success for St Augustine’s
We are delighted to share more brilliant football news from St Augustine’s, as our Year 5 and Year 6 boys took part in today’s Darlington School Sport Partnership Football Festival. The team demonstrated exceptional determination, teamwork and skill across a demanding schedule of matches.
Reception Welcome the First Signs of Spring
This week, our Reception children have been embracing the change of seasons as they prepared for the arrival of Spring. They set off on a lovely walk around the school grounds, keeping a careful lookout for the early signs of new life. Along the way, they spotted daffodils beginning to bloom, birds’ nests tucked into branches, insects exploring the grass and many other hints that Spring is on its way.
Swimming Success for St Augustine’s
Yesterday, a talented group of our Year 5 and Year 6 children represented St Augustine’s at the Darlington Primary Swimming Gala, and we could not be more proud of their achievements. From the very first race, our pupils demonstrated outstanding self‑belief, determination and team spirit. Each child gave their absolute best in the pool, showing resilience, focus and an eagerness to support one another throughout the event.
St Augustine’s Choir Shine at the Mayor’s Song Contest
St Augustine’s choir gave a truly outstanding performance at this year’s Mayor’s Song Contest. The children sang with confidence, energy and beautiful harmony, creating a moment the whole school community can be proud of. Their dedication in rehearsals was clear to see, and they represented St Augustine’s with real joy and professionalism throughout the evening.
A Buzz of Creativity in Reading Week
During Reading Week, every class explored the beautiful picture book Bee and Me by Alison Jay, and the creativity that followed was truly something special.

World Book Day at St Augustine’s!
We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day at St Augustine’s yesterday, with our whole school community getting involved in a day full of creativity, imagination and reading fun.

What an unforgettable day of football! Our boys’ team showed incredible determination, teamwork and resilience as they won the Darlington Primary Football Cup for the second year in a row!
