This week at St Augustine’s, our Early Years pupils have been busy celebrating the incredible life and work of Sir David Attenborough, as he marks his 100th birthday!
Our Reception children took part in an exciting live lesson all about Sir David Attenborough’s life, learning about his amazing adventures and his passion for the natural world. They also enjoyed listening to a story about him and put their knowledge to the test with a fun quiz—achieving an impressive 15 out of 15!
To mark the occasion, the children got creative by designing beautiful birthday cards, each featuring a wonderful portrait of Sir David himself. To further celebrate his love of nature, Reception went on their own minibeast hunt, exploring the outdoors and discovering the tiny creatures that make our world so special.
Meanwhile, our Nursery children joined in the celebrations by creating their own fantastic painted portraits of Sir David Attenborough, showing great creativity and enthusiasm.
We are so proud of all our Early Years children for their curiosity, creativity and love of learning. What a wonderful way to honour such an inspiring figure!
