Our Year 5 cricket team recently enjoyed a fantastic day at the Darlington Primary Cricket Festival, representing St Augustine’s with pride and enthusiasm.
Across four exciting matches, the team demonstrated excellent teamwork, determination and sportsmanship. It was wonderful to see the boys confidently showcasing the cricket skills they developed during PE lessons last half term, including batting, bowling and fielding techniques.
The festival provided a brilliant opportunity for pupils to experience competitive sport in a supportive environment, and they were fantastic ambassadors for our school throughout the day.
There is plenty more cricket to look forward to at St Augustine’s! Our Year 6 boys team will be taking part in a competition on Monday 18th May, followed by our Year 5 & 6 girls team who will be competing on Thursday 21st May.
We wish all our teams the very best of luck and can’t wait to hear more about their successes. Well done to everyone involved!
