St Augustine’s Primary School in Darlington is celebrating the success of its Year 5 and Year 6 pupils, who recently took part in an exciting Quadkids athletics event.

The children enjoyed a fantastic morning of sport and physical activity, where they competed in four different events. In each activity, pupils earned points, encouraging both individual effort and teamwork throughout the competition.

Promoting Physical Literacy Through Sport

The Quadkids event was designed to champion physical literacy and give children the opportunity to try a variety of sports. It encouraged pupils to:

  • Develop confidence in physical activity
  • Experience new sporting challenges
  • Build skills across different disciplines

For many pupils, the event provided a chance to take part in sports they might not usually experience, helping to broaden their interest in staying active.

Enthusiasm and Effort on Display

Teachers at St Augustine’s praised the pupils for their enthusiasm, determination, and positive attitude across all four activities. From start to finish, the group demonstrated excellent effort and a strong team spirit.

A Successful Morning for St Augustine’s

The Quadkids event was a rewarding experience for everyone involved, highlighting the importance of sport in supporting health, wellbeing, and personal development.

The school community would like to say well done to all of the pupils who took part and represented St Augustine’s with pride.
