Reception pupils at St Augustine’s School in Darlington have been learning how sport can bring people together across the world, using the excitement of the FIFA World Cup as inspiration.

The engaging lesson introduced young learners to different countries, cultures and communities, helping them to understand how sport connects people globally.

Learning About the World Through Football

During the session, children explored a variety of countries that take part in the World Cup. They discussed how people from different backgrounds celebrate sport and support their teams, developing their awareness of the wider world in a fun and accessible way.
