A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and Year 6 girls’ cricket team, who proudly achieved silver medals at a recent tournament held at Darlington RA.
Strong Start and Impressive Wins
Competing against eight other primary schools, the team began the day brilliantly, securing wins against Harrowgate Hill, Hurworth and Mowden. Their teamwork and skill were evident throughout.
Battling the Weather
Unfortunately, the weather brought the competition to an early end, meaning the team missed their final matches. Despite this, their excellent performances earned them a well‑deserved second place finish.
A Standout Performance
One of the highlights of the day was the match against Mowden, where the girls showcased excellent batting skills developed in PE lessons.
Looking Ahead
It has been a fantastic end to a busy half term of sport, and there’s plenty more to come with upcoming athletics events in June.
