We had a fantastic time celebrating World Book Day at St Augustine’s yesterday, with our whole school community getting involved in a day full of creativity, imagination and reading fun.
Children loved dressing up as their favourite book characters, filling the school with colour, excitement and plenty of familiar faces from well‑loved stories. We also held a brilliant book sale, giving pupils the chance to discover new stories to enjoy at home.
As part of the national celebration, our pupils designed their own World Book Day book tokens to enter into the official competition — and their creativity truly shone through!
Throughout the day, classes also enjoyed live lessons with current authors and illustrators, offering a wonderful insight into the world of writing and illustration.
