What a brilliant morning of basketball for our Year 6 team, who travelled to compete against six schools from across the Tees Valley after winning the Darlington event.
Although we had a slow start and lost our first game, the team quickly found their rhythm. From that point on, their play was outstanding. The boys went on to play five more games, winning four, with their only other defeat coming against the eventual winners, Chris the King, who remained unbeaten throughout the competition.
It was an incredibly close match — decided by just one basket — and could easily have gone our way on another day. Both teams showed fantastic end‑to‑end play.
Our players showed brilliant determination, great sportsmanship, and represented Darlington superbly. They also looked very smart in their new Avec Sport T‑shirts!
